I think I may have mentioned once before that my friend Dalfino Madrigal Keyte made his own album called the 'Record of Matches' which is inspired by a poetry collection called the 'Book of Matches'. His album is now available to listen to online via SoundCloud, so I suggest you give it a listen; there are a number of good tracks on there. There's quite a wide range of music on it too, there are regular old alternative rock tracks, crazy experimental tracks and instrumentals as well. Whatever you like, I imagine there'll be at least one track that you enjoy. Here's a link:

Yesterday I was happily reminded of a video I'd seen online some time ago. This is it, and it's by far the nicest video I've ever seen. Since it’s of such high quality, I couldn't really resist sharing it here on my blog. Perhaps you're feeling a little sad or gloomy? Then this video will definitely be the medicine you need. It's just so heart-warming in a way that can't really be described. I imagine you'll especially like this video if you quite like animals, but even if you don't I can't imagine there's any chance of you disliking it. So here is Christian the Lion: _ About a month or so ago, my friend TülinKei (that's their pen name) wrote a blog entry (on Rainbow Kokoro, I've not posted a link to this one before, but then again, she does have about fifty seven blogs or something like that) and I really quite liked it. Basically, there were about ten YouTube videos of songs and they'd all be chosen to display her taste in music, through it I actually found quite a few songs that I now quite like so I’m going to do the same thing! Here are a few very different songs, if you listen to all of them I'm sure you'll find at least one which you'll rather like, I sure hope that you do! Did you like any of them? I've tried to link to these songs' official uploads, but they don't all have them so some of these are actually illegal uploads and will probably be deleted in the future so that'll be the explanation if one or two videos don't work for you.
_ For today's blog entry, I'm just going to show you an extremely good poem written by my friend TülinKei (That's her pen name, I've mentioned one of her blogs on here before). Basically, this poem contains the stark contrasts of pessimism and optimism, both of which are mixed with a lovely kind of childlike innocence. It's so good, that I decided I should post it here (with approval) for all to see. This is it:
You were sick. And I tried all I could, but I couldn't fix you. Your broken pieces covered the ground, And I couldn't bare to look any more... So I... Painted them. With as many colours as I could. Feeling that it wasn't enough, I placed bows on your arms, And glitter on your feet. I drew very carefully on your hands, Little pictures of birds and angels. And before I knew it, The pieces I loved so much were beautiful. And then I realised, that you too, covered me with stars. I now look in the mirror, and you stand beside me. Despite living in a twisted world, We make the sky look beautiful. Pretty good hey? You can find more of her poems on her blog TulinKei, here's a link to it (this isn't one I've pasted a link to before either, this is a poetry only blog.) While Twisted World may be, in my opinion, the best thing on there, there are lots of other very high quality poems, so I suggest you take a look, what harm can it do? Here's another more unheard of Christmas classic. While it may be a song that not many people will have heard of, it's definitely a band that everyone will know: The Beatles. They used to give out free Christmas albums to their fanclub back in the 60s, and, on these Christmas albums, were exclusive songs. I recently bought the 'Free as a Bird' single from the 90s, and the CD just happens to have their Christmas song 'Christmas Time (Is Here Again)' so here it is for you all to hear! I hope you'll like it. Much like the last Christmas song I recommended, I couldn't find the song officially uploaded on YouTube. As such, if you're reading this some time in the future, I'm sorry but the video is probably gone. You may have to search for it yourself.
Just a quick Christmassy entry today. I'm going to suggest to you a Christmas song which isn't really very popular but still just as good as, if not better than, the classics such as 'Wonderful Christmastime'. I only heard about it myself because Apple very kindly gave it away for free on iTunes a year or two ago. So here it is, I hope you like it: _ Unfortunately, I couldn't find the song officially uploaded onto YouTube, so if somebody is reading this at a future date, the video will probably have been taken down. If that is the case please search for Glasvegas- A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like a Kiss) on YouTube, and I'm sure you'll be able to find it.
_ Just a quick little shout out for today's entry. Basically, the Elf Yourself page is a fun little site where you can make festive music videos featuring your family and friends. It really can be quite amusing, so if you ever have a free few minutes on your hands I suggest you try elfing yourself and your friends, I hope you'll enjoy it!
Link I'm not talking about myself in the title of today's blog post, I'm not much of a photographer (well, obviously I have taken photographs before in my life, but I wouldn't class it as something I do as a hobby), instead the title refers to my good friend TülinKei (pen name). You may remember a few months ago I posted a link to the blog Yellow Kokoro which had entries about Korean music and Doctor Who (amongst other things) well, Stacey is the author of that blog and she has now opened a new one called I Take Pictures which features some very good artistic photos. I suggest you give it a brief visit!
Here's a link: http://photo-kei.blogspot.co.uk/ The existence of a very important charitable organisation has come to my attention, please visit the site immediately.
Link My good friend Dalfino has posted a song on Youtube (Sing a Song for You by Tim Buckley). This is the best musical work I've heard from Dalfino and I heavily suggest you give it a listen. I'd give this cover a 8/10 and I hope that he decides to post more songs online soon, |
About the AuthorAdam Randall is the author of the blog. Is he a good or bad writer? Who knows? Why not read a few entries and make a decision! New to this Site?
